Thanks for the update AC. Any idea if, or when an English language edition will hit the market? As it stands now, both Special Ops Journal and, Special Operations Report, have both ceased publication.

How to get it? bestellung@k-isom.com
Unfortunalety no English version until now. Even if Special Ops Journal and Special Operations Report have both ceased publication. The English summary is about the SEK/SWAT/Police sniper competition in CZ-Republic.
With those to mags gone the way of the Do Do, there's not really much available her in the US, so it'd be nice to have decent mag covering SOF and LE tactical units. Oh well, hopefully the economy will improve enough to make it economically feasible for a English language edition.
Really? Do Americans not buy "Soldier of Fortune"? Is that not a good magazine for the US readers?
EDIT: nevermind, Dom beat me to it.
Donīt worry. I was just kidding.
Anyway, the problem is not to convert the German K-ISOM in a European English version or to open a complete new American version.
First at all it lacks of propper distribution systems and postal support in the USA. Only with subscribers no magazine will survive (like SOR and SOJ tried). The magazines has to be in the shops from San Antonio to Yakima on the same day and clients ordering old issues needs them ASAP. The US is not organized enough to garantee this. Also the magazine has to be printed in the USA (who will control this?) and not shipped from Europe to the USA, wich make no economic sense.
On the other hand there will be not enough English readers in Europe to garantee the success of a stand-alone English version.
Both makes no econimic sense, I think. It would only work if there is a full time K-ISOM staff in the USA to overwatch all this and also to serve the English market in Europe. But honestly speaking, unfortunately it looks like a no-go.
Have you looking at Amazon as a distributor, as they offer subscriptions to both RAIDS and the French version of Commando? That's how I get my copies of RAIDS. It's a little on the expensive side though. Also, instead of printing in the US, have you considered Canada? I know of several magazines that print in Canada, then ship to the US to save on costs. Also, US you would need North American advertisers to offset your costs.
And as far as a full time US staff, now that Sam Katz, and his staff are no longer putting out a magazine, I'd suggest making him an offer, as he was the editor for Special Ops Journal, before he started publishing Special Operations Report. Plush, he's got extensive contacts with Units in the US, Spain, Germany, and Israel, and a good relationship with a lot of US based military and law enforcement writers.
Well, KOMMANDO is in Amazon. Look at amazon.de/Kommando
http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_ss?__m...ando&x=22&y=18
And they will never pay their bills in this economic situation. Sad but true.
Well, most of the stories in SOR were based on fiction, not on facts. Itīs sad but the reality on the ground. Reserches were not done accurate. If itīs OK for the US market is one thing but the German speaking market would never accept such amateurishness. Sad but true.
Same problem. For example, if you ask the staff, K-ISOM usually doesnīt accept any foreign writers and specially no US Americans.
I'm talking about the US Amazon website, as they've got an extensive distribution system.
So major US advertisers like Blackhawk, Def Tech, Safariland, Uncle Mike's, etc., aren't paying their bills?
AC, I'm not sure which stories you're referring to, but I'd like to know. If you don't want to discuss it publicly, you can either PM me, or shoot me an email.
Why non-German writers, and what's the problem with US based correspondents?
hi guys,
I'd like to show you some nice pics from the latest issue of K-ISOM, the magazine for international special operations. I did not scan the pics, cause I want you to buy the mag if you like them- more sth like an appetizer.
I took it with the cam-phone, so the quality is not good.

If you'd like, I could post more pics from the last issues (I got them all since the first came out last year). Btw, kudos to the team of K-ISOM, especially the editor (who is an active member here)
Only one SEK-team took part, as well as a team of GSG9.
A Canadian team won (Bruce Power SWAT, the won 2008 too!), 2nd place GSG9.
Do you have the issue No4 of this year?
