Since there isn't a thread dedicated to this (outside of Portugal) little known conflict, I'll start it. This war was fought from 1961 to 1974 in Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique - more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_Colonial_War
Anyway, pics:
F-84 in Luanda Air Base.
This pissed-off the americans since the F-84 was considered NATO material, not to be used in Africa.
Portuguese paratroopers in action in Angola. Notice the AR-10 (the standard weapon of the paras; the rest of the portuguese military used the G3) and the very sucessful Alouette III helicopter. The caption reads "Assault in Sanga Bush"
Infantry in Angola. This pic is from early in the war - the soldiers wear helmets and FN Fal rifles. The helmets would soon be dropped in favor of Bigeard "lizard-type" caps, and the FN would be replaced by the G3 rifle. The caption reads "Always on the lookout...for danger".
I'll post more stuff later.
