Experimental version of the remote control station
HESA's Infrared Countermeasure (IRCM) Jammer, shields Iranian rotorcraft & fixed wing platforms against current and future IR threats by jamming incoming enemy's infrared homing (heat seeking) missiles.
''Modern camouflage coatings are capable of simultaneous camouflaging visible, near and thermal infrared areas and radar waves in threatening radar band X ( from 8 to 12 GHz). These coatings are used for camouflaging all stationary and mobile military and strategic the fore mentioned targets, with use of these coatings could be undetectable against different threats which are installed on different military platforms, such as fighter planes, satellites, remote control missiles etc.''
Iran launches Ya Zahra (and Mersad) air defense system production line.
http://www.presstv.com/detail/2013/0...efense-system/Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has inaugurated the production line of an indigenous short-range air defense system called Ya Zahra.
“This defense system has the capability of detecting, tracking and destroying short-range aerial targets such as aircraft, helicopters and drones,” Vahidi said on Sunday.
“Other features of the system include the capability of simultaneously engaging and destroying several targets, high operational speed and fully automatic tracking,” the Iranian defense minister added.
Vahidi added that the mobile missile system can be connected to the country’s defense network and deployed in any location.
Iran tested the Ya Zahra missile system during a massive seven-day maneuver, codenamed Modafe'an-e Aseman-e Velayat 4 (Defenders of the Velayat Skies 4), in November 2012.
Vahidi also pointed to the mass-production of the Mersad air defense system, saying, “Mersad surface-to-air missile system is an efficient and advanced medium-range air defense system which can carry out defense operations against various kinds of high-speed aircraft, helicopters, drone and cruise missiles.”
Vahidi said the system had managed to successfully destroy aerial targets in the Modafe'an-e Aseman-e Velayat 4 drills.
http://articles.janes.com/articles/J...ject-Iran.html''The Iranian Air Defence Industries Group of the Aerospace Industries Organisation Ya-zahra Project has succeeded in developing a reverse-engineered R440 missile version of the then French Thomson-CSF Airsys (now Thales France) Crotale system, parts of which were stated to have been captured from Iraq during the 1980 to 1988 Iran/Iraq War. It is also believed that, as Iran has a number of Chinese-supplied FM-80 (Chinese Feimeng-80 - Flying Midge-80) systems and, possibly, follow-on FM-90 systems. Technology derived from those systems may have been used in the Ya-zahra Project.''
