Military related stuff has always interested me and I like things that go bang. Lurked about a year before I mustered the courage to join this jolly society, on my 4th year now.
Did my time in the FDF back in '97 in the A-A Regiment of Lapland, toyed around with Strela and Igla systems.
These days I occupy myself either by being drunk or by manufacturing weather detection equipment for military and civillian use.

I'm Raymond, living in North Texas, 47 yo, 3 children, wife, working in the food chain. Don't have any military background (Unless military conscription at 18 counts )But I lived 25 years close to a military base and the personnel was allways polite(Dad use to run a hardware store 2 blocks away)as a customers and neighbours.
My name is Nathan, Im 21, I live and work in Washington State, I am interested in virtually all things military but primarily military history(actually ALL history, but military history provides an interesting cross-section of a society, what their values are and how they dealt with the issues facing them).
I'm a registered republican but have voted for democrats, Im not really too far either way, fairly liberal in some social policies, conservative as far as military matters, economic policy, and foreign policy goes.
I've traveled the world a bit, been around the middle east some, and especially India.
I come from a military family that has served in almost every major american war since(and including) the Revolution, I unfortunately could not continue this tradition due to high blood pressure and a heart arrythmia.
