Looks like some sort of Lebel, I'm most likely wrong.
So i inherited quite the collection of rifles from my grandfather after he passed away, there is only one thing that stumps me with this rifle. I never got the chance to ask him where he got it or what it was.
I think its some sort of British Enfield variant. Correct me if im wrong, id like to know alot more about this gun.
On every peice of metal on the gun there are little crowns with a letter under them. There is also the number 1874 and 1856.
Also on the wood it looks like it says Maastricht. I did a quick seach on the net and couldnt find anything related to guns on Maastricht. Any ideas? Anybody ever seen one of these?
Here are some photos:

Also rubbed off on the gun...there are two words.. the first word starts with a P and ends with an S. The second word starts with an M and ends in an E.
Hollis will know, he can't be far away.
Could it be this one?
French Mle 1874 M.80 Gras Rifle

true. i only googled "1874 rifle".. but they look pretty similar atleast.
It's a Dutch "Beau mont Vitali" rifle (the first two words should be together but for some stupid reason the filter starred it).

I wanted to see yours, but couldnt get the link to work! How did you get yours? Did you buy it? If so how much did you pay for it, if you dont mind me asking.
EDIT: Never mind i see the picture now.
Also, theres a video of some guy firing it on you tube. Claims the empty brass for this gun is $4/each... crazy.
