Default Help me identify this rifle.... please

So i inherited quite the collection of rifles from my grandfather after he passed away, there is only one thing that stumps me with this rifle. I never got the chance to ask him where he got it or what it was.

I think its some sort of British Enfield variant. Correct me if im wrong, id like to know alot more about this gun.

On every peice of metal on the gun there are little crowns with a letter under them. There is also the number 1874 and 1856.

Also on the wood it looks like it says Maastricht. I did a quick seach on the net and couldnt find anything related to guns on Maastricht. Any ideas? Anybody ever seen one of these?

    Here are some photos:

Also rubbed off on the gun...there are two words.. the first word starts with a P and ends with an S. The second word starts with an M and ends in an E.

Indeed they do, the sights are a little different. So from what people have said so far im guessing its some sort of French rifle.

It's a Dutch "Beau mont Vitali" rifle (the first two words should be together but for some stupid reason the filter starred it).

Is there no shame in you? Perhaps the list of what you don't have would be shorter...I envy that MG42...

EDIT: Never mind i see the picture now.

Also, theres a video of some guy firing it on you tube. Claims the empty brass for this gun is $4/each... crazy.
