I purchased some electricity.
Power bill came yesterday... I cant afford toys :P
I did buy some new PC speakers last week.
Yes, there is already a thread like this in the airsoft section, but this thread is not for airsofters.
It doesn't matter if you post a picture of a coke can or a picture of a new car.
Here is my latest purchase:
It's a Puxing px-888 UHF 400-480mhz. You can program it to transmit and receive on any freq between 400-480 mhz. I don't know if it is really legal to own here because i can talk on the police freq's etc, but im not gonna do that.
I have programmed it to work on the regular PMR446 and SRBR (444mhz) freqs. I can legally use the freqs here if i transmit on 0.5w. You can choose between HI and LO (4w or 0.5w).
Price: 125 USD. Good price IMO.
Cons: There are no Vista x64 drivers for the programming cable![]()

Speaking of which. I'm about to buy a new computer for gaming and development. I was going to open a new thread asking for advice, but rather to use this thread. I'm not much of a gamer but like occasionally to play some good FPS. So basically I'm looking for a pretty much high-end desktop which will be able to run latest games (e.g. COD4, Far Cry 2 etc) on max specs at good fps. My budget (no screen included) is about 1000$.
I'm mostly conflicted about CPU (between Intel dual and quad core - if anyone has experience in both, I'd very happy to hear) and graphic card.
What kind of development. If your apps will take advantage of quad cores go for quad cores - if not go for dual core. Your games won't take advantage of quad cores.
My Ati HD 4870 is a pretty good bang for buck graphics card.
The last thing I bought was lunch.
Six pairs of socks.
I do not necessarily need quad core for development, although it always helps running multiple heavy-weight processes on the system, especially if I want to run virtual machine or a server on my computer. I was rather interested to know if it helps when running games (though I'd guess there is no much multithreading going in an average FPS).
Springfield XD .45
Going to pick it up this weekend. Feels good man.
A book: Dread Empire by Glen Cross.
20" heavy Bushmaster barrel for my current AR-build project, from SMGLee. Now that I'm unemployed, it will be the last purchase of that type for a while.
