Sounds like some fancy ****.
It looks nice, but it's pretty standard for a new sliding glass patio door now. I guess I read the marketing info too much. The girlfriend will like it because the room will be warmer now in the winter.
27 inch iMac with
3.4 Quad Core i7
4 gb ram (although I already ordered 8 more to upgrade it to 12 right away)
256 sdd + 1tb hdd
and
radeon hd 6970m with 2 gb ram
Paid for it this morning, it should arrive in a week or so, cant wait.
I know there will be an iMac refresh soon but I need it for work and I can't continue doing video editing on my wife's 15 inch 2010 macbook pro.
New pair of Nike Air Relentless shoes. Saw them in a flyer for a sale at Olympia Sports this week, went and got them for 20% off because I thought they looked nice. I'm not a big shoe person.
Gas filled windows and doors are worth it.
Yeah, it is really expensive, and I could have bought a more powerful custom build PC for half of the money I paid for this iMac but I work on Final Cut and I need a machine on which I can learn to use After Effects. Time I'll save working on that machine instead of my wifes poor medium strenght 2010 macbook pro, easiness of use, possibility of adding After Effects to my skills, it will pay off itself just fine. If it was a non work related thing, I would probably buy a nice gaming dekstop and macbook air to attach to that desktops monitor when needed/if I want to use a mac on a big screen.
p.s. Obviously there are some great video editing programs for Windows, but I prefer Final Cut X and in general Mac.
