GQ Parachutes also had the company logo incorporated into a patch which was stitched next to the chest strap of it's 'chutes. These were sometimes removed by RAF Safety Equipment Fitters as the 'chutes were received into service from the manufacturer or during packing/maintenance.
The lapel pins were company promotional items given to clients/potential clients and were also worn by GQ staff. The other UK parachute manufacturer, Irvin, also had parachute lapel pins using it's company logo. For a time, Irvin's reps used to give them out to successful students on Basic Para. Courses at No. 1 PTS.Both companies have since merged and later, with others, formed 'Airborne Systems'
