For your correction: "Pa Yi" does mean "8 1" in Chinese text, but nothing about local Chinese army designation. "8 1" is respresented as the birth date of Chinese PLA: August 1st (1927). As matter of fact, "Pa Yi"(8 1) on 5-point red star is the official emblem of China People's Liberation Army since 1949. It has been widely used by land force, naval force, air force and 2nd artillery force.

    hello,
does someone have a photo of approved original Chinese parachute wing described here? both sides.
many may be seen on public online auctions, but how can you tell originals from fakes?

    Can anyone verify???
    Hi,

I can translate this for you. These wings are actually for personnel from the "Commandos de l'air" as well as K9 units belonging the "commandos de l'Air". The badge you did display is actually for either "Commandos de l'air" or "MTA" (MTA stands for "Militaire Technicien de l'Air"). These personnels can obtain these wings after 2 motivation jumps and provided they have attended the parachute ground training prior to the jump.
I do confirm this is a military jump wing. Do let me know should you need a formal translation or further details.

    Regards.
