Remember that the sheer number of B-17's shot down by the Germans meant that a relatively undamaged crash landed Allied aeroplane would easily have been repaired and kept airborne due to the free availability of spares.
I like the story behind the phantom b-24 incedent, realy intresting.
They got their hands on a load of stuff over the years.
Mostly i think they painted it yellow and used it for training their pilots rather than anything too sneaky although they were supposed to use captured bombers to infiltrate and shadow bomber streams to radio back intelligence although that might be as much an urban myth as scarecrow shells.
That is not a tank.
