Do I need a visa if I have a Canadian passport? I am thinking there are so many Indians in Canada, (most probably without Indian passports) that they may have gotten rid of Visa requirements. Not a big problem but still somewhat of a hassle.

Getting the Indian visa is usually a simple formality and a boring bureaucratic procedure for most countries. Fill in the paperwork, pay your visa processing fee and they'll grant you a 6 month tourist visa. This is usually the case for citizens of most countries.

US citizens can get a 10 year visa, due to some kind of special agreement with India. Some googling indicates that Canada also has some agreement in place to grant its citizens 5 year visas to India. It has something to do with reducing the paperwork apparently, since business people tend to travel back and forth a lot.
