Who knows. I am more thinking that this is aerodynamic modification. It could be camera that is lying, but i have compared with several MAKS pictures, and the outcome is the same, T-50-1/-2 supports looks different than on the T-50-3.

Well, Sukhoi got so much pressure from so many posters on so many forums urging them to fit the T-50 with a single piece canopy that they decided to retaliate by reverting to the 3 pieces set !!!
Do not upset Sukhoi, they can drive you mad !!

Funny... I made a similar Photoshop ages ago (this spring, right when the T-50-2 had flown for the first time). Pretty much identical to that image, except that I didn't just desaturate the entire thing, I also highlighted the HUD and the serration on the radome:



Also I didn't desaturate the landing light back then...

The PAK FA prototypes are using the AL-41 which is 2D (with the canted mounting it acts like 2.5D vectoring) and I think they still have the nozzles locked center for now. I don't know if the final production engine will be 3D or not.

There are photos of the engines shifted off enter (one shifter, other straight), so the engine can do 3D vectoring.

What explanation do you need?

T-50-1 is grounded. For some reason that we will probably never know, T-50-2 (which is flying frequently) needed new tails. "Cannibalism" is nothing new in test programs. Btw, T-50-1 had its tails refit/fixed at KnAAPO atleast once.

Is PAK-FA going to have flat nozzles or not ? if not why ? no 3D thrust vectoring with flat nozzles ? loss of thrust?
