Okei, this is how the first flight went: plane takes off, has the black lines. Plane in the air, no black lines. Plane lands, black lines.

I bet the pilot opened the canopy in flight, stepped on the back of it with paint and paint brush, painted it over. Then he stepped back in to the cockpit gave thumbs up and said: It looks great now, take the pics!

It *is* painted over, in photoshop.

One thing to consider - the pictures you are showing may be
from two different planes. The pictures that were released to the public were from the plane that just made the taxi run without flying. The video is from the plane that actually flew. The second picture your are showing is deffinately from the plane that flew. However perhaps the first picture is from the plane that made the taxi run without flying? In this case it is possible that there are slight differences in painting. BTW i don`t actually notice what you are talking about. Where are those black strips?

No, that still comes from a vid where the plane is taking off. And the test run plane (that didnt take off) also have the black lines. As i said, check out videos of it in flight, you will see the black lines there.

There is one plane that took off, that did one flight. Two pictures shows the exactly same plane.

yeah yeah...the russian have kept this plane so secret all this while...and here you are telling us you BELIEVE this is the first flight because they say so.... for all i care they probably have flown this aircraft up and down like any typical xperimental aircraft a million time....... and btw the high res picture were release later... they probably have removed the sensor cable by that time and took more gajillion picture..and releases it to the public slower than tap water drip...evil russian!

metberkut, the plane has flown multiple times. The televised first flight has the censors, and some hi-res pics show it flying without. Simple I think.

Clever. GE is not that accurate unfortunately, I've previously tried measuring things to ID them and found that even items of known size vary within a few meters in GE measure tool. GE is pretty amazing, but not THAT accurate; I wouldn't trust the measurements to the level of detail people are expecting.

But 18-20m seems likely to me anyway.

    what missiles will PAK-FA carry?

my understanding is that one of the missiles is going to be based on R-77 and it is going to have folding fins by 2013-15... there are at least two more missiles in dev for PAK

possibly smth based on R-73 for short range

I remember they show new missiles on MAKS 2009. RVV-SD that base on R-77 and RVV-MD base on R-73.
Anyway, thay look similar to their preceded.
