Для самолета пятого поколения сделали позолоченное стекло - Известия
    something like this..
In Obninsk NPP "Technology", which produces composite components for the fifth-generation aircraft T-50, developed a unique coating that protects the glass cockpit from the radio waves, and solar radiation. Thanks to him, the signal from the radar, air defense systems is not reflected from the cockpit, and the devices installed inside, remain invisible to the electronic systems of intelligence of the enemy.

Were they telling us about how the new T-50 will even have wheels on it? I must have missed that.

The media is pretty starved for news on the project, so they throw out anything looking remotely interesting. I'm hoping we get some interesting stuff after the frames finish their trials and the engines finish theirs.

So, do you mean Russians are retarded and only knew of this 1990 (as you say) technology before now, or that media is stating the obvious?

    a) There already are Russian planes with "golden" canopies flying.

    b) The YF-22 didn't have one.

    c) The F-16s has had it, probably before 1990.

Prowlers, B-2s, Hornets, B-1Bs, F-16s, F-117s all have or had it. Hell there is at least one helicopter that's had it (OH-58 variant). I never said one way or another if the YF-22 had it.

That's all unimportant and just reinforces the point I was making. This is neither news to Russia nor was it news that arrived in 1990. So your comment doesn't make sense.

Gold, indium and tin layers no more than 20nm each. 90nm for all the coating. And according to Vikulin it's similar to the F-22 Raptor one. As I can figure out the main problem is to crossbread transparency and invisibility. I would expect something more advanced for about 30000$.

Obviously somebody thought it was news or it wouldn't have been in the article would it?

OF course it is "news" because it's probably a new kind and new to the Pak-Fa. But it is not news from 1990.

Man, forget it. Trying to explain anything to you is apparently a waste of time.
