My grandfather was a tailgunner on a B-17G that had to ditch in the North Sea. I'll see about scanning a copy of the sketch he made of the incident.

Beautiful pics! Fuddy Duddy was a fantastic restoration done by the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo NY. Museum moved and ran short of money and now the Fud is basically rented out to the highest bidder! I helped contribute to the rebuilding of that plane and it was nice to have a short drive to visit her and see her fly every summer, but no more. At least people all over the country get to see her now instead of just the NE. Here is a pic I took of her at the yearly air show they used to have - "Wings of Eagles." Alas, that is gone too. Yes that is a PBY Catalina in the backround, also a part of the museum that is now gone. It was such a great place, you could touch them and smell the fuel and grease and help work on them.

I took a ride in the Fuddy Duddy a few years ago, was real fun. I wish I had brought earplugs though.

I love those old bombers too. I am going to try to go to the aircraft museum in Nebraska as soon as I can.
