Nope, Iran have equipment widely used around the world, they can buy some parts from other countries.Just like in Iran....
No, they can't use any other components because they are not compatibile with an M1 tank. Egyptian made components are less vital, like suspension elements etc. Not majroc components like FCS, armaments, powerpack etc.what about spare parts manufactured locally in egypt ? could egyptians change US made components for frensh or even russian or ukrainian ones ???

Of course if they have capabilities to redesign M1 so foreign components would fit situation could be different, but this is more expensive solution, and nobody have any guarantee that everything will works. Good example is Chech Republic and their T-72M4Cz and problems with it.
