    Hehe - bacon roll fired in a mess tin or sausage, meatless, with baked beans whacked on top - aaah I can smell it now. Few are left that know the pleasures of the old tinned compo pack....
    Laughed when I saw the coleman in the back of the Warrior. I attempted something like that in the back of an FFR just as the FoS walked past. Didnt do it again !

    Essential cooking aid for those ration packs was the 44 pattern waterbottle. The carrier was better than the 58 but the best bit was the aluminium mug. That and a bit of carpet tape! Didn't need mess tins.
