Try putting the lat/long displayed on the top left into google earth![]()
Some of that display shouldnt be there.
good hit though !
Did I get this wrong? I put the Lat and long into Google Earth and it showed me that the Helicopter was actually off the coast of Bermuda....worldwide conspiracy much?
I'm on a LT with no Google Earth, so what come's up?
I can't make out the last 3 numbers on either of the lat/long combinations. FAIL.
I am registering middle eastern place...so I guess I'm getting close?![]()
Good strike, gotta love that sheet
32 06.652'N, 64 54.665' E
Places me on Google Earth to a group of compounds just North of Sangin. In the Green Zone.
......... that was a sweet strike. I am not disapoint.![]()
I can't zoom in über-close to see, but I'm sure Her Majesty's forces didn't disappoint.![]()
previously stated as battle damage on this thread.
this sea kings tail rotor hit some rocks while dropping a 3 para call sign off on the top a feature called Salavat Ghar in Kandahar province i know as i was on the step getting ready to leap onto the feature.the tail rotor smashed and 2 pieces came through the fuselage one piece hitting the light electronic warfare operator behind me on the helmet.snipers and some of my FSG had already been dropped on the position fire support was available for the main air assault.
sea king dropping off fst party later in the day
the pilot then put the helicopter into a dive and brought it round the mountain where my callsign and the crew then debussed in all round defence until a section was pushed up to us to defend the heli.
chinook dropping off half my FSG im first man out
a chinook then came in extracted the crew and dropped my callsign off on the feature to continue our overwatch task a flight crew then put a new tail rotor on the heli plugged a few holes in the pipes and it flew back to KAF.
members of the FSG on overwatch im on the right.
during this op there were a number of small contacts a large amount of opium was captured and a well equiped taliban field hospital was found and destroyed a ch-47 the tried to take us of the feature and bent his rear wheel so we had to clamber down which took the best part of an hour during this time the remainder of the ground forces and choppers waited on us incase someone fell down the mountain.(health and safety would have had a heart attack)
