The Tactical Imagery Wing in Kandahar spend hours each day analysing images to protect soldiers from IEDs and insurgents. The group of six RAF airmen monitor the pictures recorded by the Raptor device, which is attached to the underside of a Tornado jet.
British Forces News reporter Lorna Ward has met the men who act as ground troops eyes in the sky.
How young is that Sergeant! good work lads, cheers.
No Problem, I know looks very young, however I bet a good eye for trouble. Another vid:

Tank Regiment remembers past victories while in Helmand
Full ArticleMembers of the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment (2 RTR) have taken a short break from operations in Afghanistan to celebrate their main battle honour - Cambrai, and the first use of tanks en masse.
The Battle of Cambrai, which took place from 20 November to 7 December 1917 in northern France during the First World War, was a milestone in British history with massed tanks breaking through the stalemate of trench warfare. More than nine decades later, modern 'Tankies', as the soldiers of 2 RTR are known, are still at the forefront of armoured warfare using the latest vehicles in service with the British Army, including the mighty Mastiff and the Wolfhound, Ridgback, Warthog, Jackal and Viking 2.

RAF Tornados demonstrate their capabilities
Full ArticleSince October last year, RAF Tornado GR4 squadrons have been flying over the landscape of Afghanistan providing support to troops on the ground. But it is not just awesome firepower that these fast jets can deliver.
RAF Marham, which operates four Tornado squadrons, put on a capability demonstration at the Norfolk-based airfield on Friday 26 November 2010 to show off the jets' capabilities.

A demonstration of the capabilities of the Tornado GR4 has taken place today in Norfolk.
Personnel at RAF Marham demonstrated how the jet still has a critical role to play in Afghanistan.
However, the future of the base remains uncertain following the Strategic Defence and Security Review. Either RAF Marham or RAF Lossiemouth, who both house Tornados, look set to close under the cuts.
British Forces News reporter Tim Cooper spoke to the Station Commander of RAF Marham, Group Captain Pete Rochelle.
