its hard to get a hold of the old type para smocks thats the true sign of the old and bold these days the old school trops are easy to get hold of if your a 28 or 30 inch waist but needless to say they are harder and harder to get hold of theres a few shops who done a few run offs of the so on excercise they are very much in.bit of a clamp down lately on the bright ones.

Are the green Snugpack Sleeka softies still prevalent in A-Stan or have they pretty much been replaced by the issue reversible softie?

Also, when did the sleeka softies first go to war? Snugpak's promo says Falklands but in all the photos I've seen of the Falklands, never saw a softie (although if they were only worn as an inner layer that's certainly not conclusive).

Yeah as you said the bigger the pant size the more expensive they get, Bought a few large pairs from up to £30-£40 but well worth it as they are the original bright ones.

They first appeared in the early 90s (and were certainly used by the resident infantry battalion in the Falklands then). Mountain Equipment did a similar (better, but far more expensive) mountaineering jacket that was a shiny dark green. They were used by a few in the know - the gun club's mountain troops, the Cadre and the like - in the Falklands war and there were a few still knocking about with the same types in Bosnia.

the newer smocks from the around 2002 are known as paki smocks as the pop studs fall of and the dpm pattern is the same as cs95 all in all not very ally!
