Hi, in this picture, I can see two types of fighters. One I know is the J 15, what is the other? And any details about this ship? Tonnage, aircraft carried, number to be built etc?

    Thanks

The unknown aircraft seems like JL-9 (Please find it via Google) - The proposed training aircraft for carrier

The ship is Varyag from former-USSR. China bought it and repair it

Thanks EzraKn, xingbake1. So this is a model of the Varyag. I thought this is PLAN's next AC, to be built at home. I am more interested in those. Any news or updates on them?

Haven't seen anything solid. But it has been saying for a while that the domestic made AC will be launched by 2015.

Here is a picture of the layout model of Shanghai Jiang Nan Shipbuilding Company's Changxing Island dockyard. You can see something interesting : )

I doubt it. As you can see by all the chinese vessels' images floating around the web, there is no remote tithgly secured yard in China. And building one big enough to take an AC will not go unnoticed. I guess we will figure when China is about to start constructing their AC. And if they haven't done anything yet, it's not gonna be 2015, given that this will be their first domestic carrier.

There is one large chinese shipyard, from which photos is very, very rarely. This Huludao, where nuclear-powered submarines being built. However, as far as is known, the large surface ships are not built there. Therefore, with the general conclusion I agree.

Tranditionaly, Huludao Bohai shipyard mainly builds submarines. It's infrastructure can hardly support buildlding AC.
