Wow, that is weird. I wonder if he could actually fire the 'weapon'. I guess he is striking the "firing pin" with the stone and the pin strikes the grenade inside and it is supposed to fly out of the barrel and kill the juice, but it feels like it would blow up in his hand or something...

If it's a grenade, I would say it's a russian VOG type, but the whole weapon looks fragile

no matter what it fires or who made it of what's it made of,

I wouldn't hold, handle or fire that thing for all the money in the world

Alex, those pics are not of the same demonstration in which the American guy was injured AFAIK.
Those pics were posted in Fresh.co.il some time ago..

    Anyways, that's creative.
It was said that its to fire back the tear gas grenades that are being fired by the Israeli forces.

The user has about the same survival rate as a pilot of a Me 163.

Well, he must be willing to give an arm or leg for "the cause"... literally.

That's potato gun, and his reload in his other hand. Using food aid as weapon. No potatos should pass border.

Very probably so. A masked guy pointing something, which looks like a weapon from a distance, is a standing target with bulls eye on his head.
