I don't blame you, your generation didn't knew much about camouflage in vegetation (not much vegetations in the territories + you were in the mesayaat) but rest assured, we did pretty much the same also in 2006.

    Back on topic,
Here's myself, with that ghillie suit (one among several types).

    Cheers,
    Swarovski.
Actually we did heavy training and use of camouflage, especially during kav Lebanon. In all truth the IDF really lacks on camouflage, that joke of a ghillie suit you and my unit wear are a joke. A real one uses foliage from the surrounding area. I don't know what the Mesayat of your time did but today the Mesayat is ahead of the main force, except for the mortars of course.

Anyways, tankers point still stands. You didn't really seem to understand it but it's ok because after all, you are Israeli. You won't have a whole platoon of infantry mix matched between camo suits and regular uniform. That's all he was saying.

Can we just all calm down, please? Swarovski obviously speaks from his own experience which is different from yours (or mine, for that matter). BTW, these camo suits are not to replace ghillie suits, and in the last years I start seeing snipers (probably from SF units) in "proper" ghillie suits.

His experiences are irrelevant and have nothing to do with what you were talking about. Yeah they are made in-house. The snipers in 50 had to sit down and create their own. Only certain SF units get provided with them.

Hello Folks, Im an ambitious IDF reenactment-freak from europe. I still lack a good replica that fits to the IDF loadout, and so my old M4 is used instead. My question to you: are there EOTech M4īs used at the IDF? I could imagine that the RIS is not common and the Silencer of course also not...(Stock and Grip in TAN? Black at least?)

When somebody of you has fotos of such rifles I would be glad!

    Thank you

here an impression of what I already collected:

Just look at the photos of peoples weapons in this thread. They couldn't be more similar to the real thing. EoTech is uncommon but not unheard of. Multicolor stocks and handguards are also very rare but again, not unheard of.

Multicolor weapon parts - toy for the civilian guns)
Soldiers can paint their gun in camo-like colour if they really need it.

EOtech are used in special forces. For example i was saw it on the YAMAM photos.

And here one more foto from motherland))
This is KASTORKA, very important detail of my IDF kit!

...okay thank you all for the info! I mainly saw M4īs and M16īs. Also common nowadays is the TAR21. The last one is quite expensive as an airsoft
Damn, I still have a Galil SAR, but that seems to fit only to the 80īs loadout, so I have to sell that one again, although itīs a beautiful rifle.

EDIT: here it is the Glilon:

I have never seen elastic on a Galil, the "IWI" stamp also is alien. Very short barrel for an ARM gas block (bipod mount).

This is odd, this Galil/Glilon has the bipod bracket of a Galil and the short barrel of Glilon. The two do not go together.

Of course, IDF issued Galil'sl/Glilon's did not have any English language markings, like IWI.
