Pretty good. Blouse the pants to tops of the boots and sock color won't matter. Button the shirt (believe it ornot, that's the kind of stuff they enforced with us,) and most important, the beret is too European shaped, needs the more Israeli look. Actually, for what your wearing, this would be the more appropriate head covering: http://www.militaryheadgear.com/items/6662 or http://www.militaryheadgear.com/items/6447 I'm not sure his dates are correct.

Thank you for your suggestion about the socks and boots, resp. blousing the trousers into the boots. I knew it was not right, although I have seen quite a lot of photos from 6 Day war and later of soldiers wearing their socks and pants precisely this way. But I assume, in combat you do not really care about the proper way of wearing things.
Luckily for me, just today I was able to consult this matter with one veteran of the Yom Kippur war and with his son (who also served in the IDF), so I learned the proper way how to do it (using gumijot).
Concerning the headgear... the beret I have is genuine IDF issue (badge included). If you can please define more clearly how I should wear it in a more IDF way. I know about our CSLA's (Czechoslovak People's Army) paratroopers, they also had maroon/red berets (in accord with British WW2 tradition) and the way of wearing them was very different from what we now see in the US army, or Bundeswehr.
I also have the normal green cap, you have shown on the pictures, so I can replace the beret if there is a need. I will surely post more pictures, but I am now in the process of moving from one place to another, half of my books and stuff is already there, the other over here. So after I will finish with this business, I shall re-unite my IDF material and equipment and attempt a new set of pictures. In any case, thank you for your comments, they are very helpful to improve all the details (and details are important).

Beth uniform is the combat uniform. I am sure other more informed members on this forum will tell you more in detail about at what occasions the aleph uniform is worn.

Alef is worn when you're going off-base, as well as for ceremonies. It's a much nicer looking material which also doesn't allow much airflow so it wouldn't be a good idea to use them to go into combat. You'd probably dehydrate within minutes!

Here are some new pictures (taken some ten days ago), when I took my IDF uniform to my very first parachute jump (in order to gain right to wear it in the first place)

Good on ya! But if you are gonna wear stuff on the original merit system ...

You need IDF para wings, and at least two more jumps before you can wear them ...

Also a couple of other corrections: The red beret is earned after the paratrooper masa kumta (90K march). Wings are earned after three jumps - basic certification - (blue backing), or five jumps - combat certification - (green backing).

Not to be too harsh, but the ephod and uniform appear from different time periods.

Edit: what plane did you jump from?

@menju - about the gumiyot. An alternative is to just stretch your socks as far as they go up your leg and then fold them down over the top of the boot. Then tuck your pant up into that fold (between the sock and the boot). With us, everyone pretty much lost/broke their gumiyot after a while and this is the convenient alternative.

Doesn't matter, from the pics there they don't tie their boots properly either. What do you do with the extra length of shoe lace on your boots?

Thanks for your comments... well of course I know that according to IDF standarts I did not earn the right to wear wings and red beret yet. But I thought as a reenactor... one jump is still better than none at all. As for those 90 km, I will try to take part in one march we have here, and this one is 100 km long... next year.
Now to those para wings... I thought one can wear them only on aleph uniform, I saw a pictures where there were paratroopers wearing beth uniform, but they never wore their wings (only on aleph uniforom shirts).
Yeah, you are right about different period of origin of my uniform parts... but you also know why... it is extremely difficult to get the real IDF equipment, especially inf trying to reenact older time periods (e.g. Yom Kippur war in my case). I will try to improve this as best as I can and as soon as I can Toda raba!

Oh, and the airplane from which I jumped with my friends was the old Soviet Antonov Ant-2 bi-plane (seen in the background in one of the pictures - in middle)

Thank you for this suggestion. As fot the additional length of the lace... there I just do some knots and stick it behind the top rim of the boot... that is why I wanted to see again the link mentioned before. I hope there will be someone with some alternative.
