Default Mega sticky pack thread. Post queries here rather than start a new thread.

So I recently bought that oack off Ebay for hiking. The only problem is that the pack didn't came with shoulder straps. Now my question is, will MOLLE2 rucksack shoulder strap fit that pack? (the woodland ones).

    Thanks in advance

How the heck did it not come with it?

The Arc'teryx straps are lightyears ahead of the MOLLE ones. Much cushier padding.

Sorry if my message doesn't help you out much, Vince.

    Have you contacted Arc'teryx?
    http://www.arcteryx.com/

Their "Leaf" division handles the military products, I think. They make very expensive stuff... I've yet to buy their products as they are prohibitively expensive for the average dude.

I knew th pack didn't come with straps when I bought it (got a good deal on it). I had a MOLLE2 ruck for some times and the straps were good IMO. I might try it anyway since MOLLE straps are like 20$ shipped these days. Can't wait to try the pack though :P

I have some experence with their products and can only say they make some VERY good gear but yes also very expensive.

But when that is said please do contact them, because their service is really VERY good. They will go very far to assist you

Owned an Arcteryx pack years ago, tough little bastard.

Their new stuff seems just miles ahead of everything else, I'd give a kidney for one of their jackets, might do it too.

So I went on their LEAF website and with the Tango pack pics, I think I'll be able to use some MOLLE2. Might no be the best but it sure will be cheaper than Arcteryx

    Thanks all for your input!

    Default SDS Assault Pack

Hi, I am looking for some feedback on the SDS MOLLE Assault Pack, like this:

    Picture is from Entrygear.com

    Just a few questions:

    1. How comfortable is it to use? I am looking at picking up one for everyday use.

    2. Does it have a decent carrying capacity?

    3. Does anybody know where to find one in brown for under $145 USD?

    Thank you.

I'd highly recommend a technical day pack from backcountry.com if it's for daily use. Something like a Marmot or a Osprey. Cool guys use civilian ****.

Those are the issued ones we have but ACU. They suck, especialy over body armor. They arn't that bad without armor but the straps have no padding and no back padding either. Capacity is alright but pockets are limited. It has the openings for radio antennas and hydration bladders but no pocket for it. Don't get one.

Do you think it would be worth it if I added my own padding?

If you absolutely want to use something military why not go for better designed packs? Like Eagle. But I can only agree with Brian, Marmot is bloody awsome brand, Arcteryx is also pretty sweet.

I was not joking when I said I'd be using it in everyday applications. I'd use it for airsoft too, but I could use it as a school bag, hiking pack, day pack, etc.

Vince, I'd snag an ILBE to use for this, but I don't want to scream "I'm American" if I use it on vacation.
