    Default unmanned patrol vehicle enters service in the IDF

    The "Genius", developed by Elbit systems has enterd service and is now patrolling the Gaza and Lebanon borders. It has multiple sensors and can send real time infor to controllers as well unmanned drone and helicopters.

    It looks great; however, the reporter looks even better.

    Dude why don't we have reporter like that in Canada?
    Oh wait... It's cause were Canada... Our reporters are in the same condition as our broadcast tools...

    Looks a lot like that other Israeli manned patrol vehicle, the Ford prototype. Maybe it's name was "Sand Cat"? (I could be wrong)

    The UGV looks great, hopefully it will function great as well.

    Does it drive and navigate autonomously or do the soldiers have to remote control it by means of the video transmission?

    My Hebrew isn´t too hot

    But on a side note: they ought to have given it bigger wheels. Even if it is 4WD, those rubbers will serioulsy impair the offroad performance, especially in deep sand.

    It drives and avoids obstacles autonomously, and allows the control unit to take over it, if something happens.

    Getting close enough to the fence with an RPG just to knock out an unmanned vehicle is beyond stupid.

    Whats your point?

    The drone-vehicle is doing the same job as a normal military jeep - without the risk of sodiers life.

    And that makes it a "not so great target for RPG".
