KK I think you all might be getting a little ahead of me. £60, for one wheel? No wonder these things get knicked left right and centre.

Hows about we start at basics, tell me good brands. Last time I was into MTB brands I was about 8 years old so I imagine my data is a tad past its prime.

You gotta think how seriously you want to do trials as opposed to just street riding, if you just want street and dirt jumping look at either a Specialized P series or a Giant STP series

Those Specialized bikes look a bit nifty, lots of user reviews saying the front forks are cack though.

I take it that Gary Fisher makes knob-on bikes? £3k seems...excessive, considering my FIAT studentmobile cost a whopping £800 from the bloke down the pub.

    .
Ive had no problems with the fox Float on mine, but a common issue but not critical is the some of the fox forks do not use the last section of travel correctly. This should have been fixed in the new models though.

Unfortunately most jump bikes come with DJ 3s, even some £800+ bikes. Building your own from 2nd hand parts works out cheapest as long as you know what to look for

If you work you can try swindle some cash out of that cycle2work thing

I'm a student, so no chance. All though I did already think about it

I picked up and On One Gimp frame for £40, which I am DEAD happy with. It is scratched as hell but took a part of it back to metal Saturday afternoon and reckon it will come up good in matte black. Was a little worried from the pics I received that some of the dents may turn out pretty big, but they are only a couple of little dinks. I had my eyes on some Marzocchi bombers but the ebay price is picking up, just a case of sitting around and waiting on them I think.

Next outlay is wheels/tyres and wondering what to do about gearing.

    Not my vid.
That course was rather crap and also dangerous if you decided to ride in the wet , on wood it's unfeasable because it becomes slippy and uncontrolable to ride on at speed and with braking even more hazardous ..

And nothing gave me more satisfaction seeing fall off his bike

And reason being that man made obstacle course was soley to protect the hillside from erosion ...

And the current price for Mbikes is just ridiculous ...
