At present, it is included in the armaments of Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, North Korea, Angola, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Georgia, Congo, Azerbaijan, Ethiopia, Gambia and other countries.

    Designation
Designation of the army fighter is to render direct support of infantry and to destroy small-size moving and immovable targets on the battlefield at night and by day, in terms of visual vision.
Typical enemies of the aircraft are as follows:
    · Tactical missiles and artillery at firing positions, at marches and in the areas of concentration
    · Tanks and motorized infantry in fighting or pre-fighting or marching state, at the points of support and in the areas of concentration
    · Management elements of infantry, army tactical aviation

    Briefly about the aircraft
The aircraft is a subsonic monoplane with low height and for 1-person crew. Its active service has been increased and its maneuvering specifications are favorable at low speeds.
The aircraft may be exploited from concreted runaway and ground airfields, as well as from the airfields located in high mountains (at 3000 m above sea level).
The cockpit is armored and is equipped with conditioning and ventilation systems. The cockpit is equipped with an oxygen caddy for the pilot and an ejection seat.
The radio equipment of the aircraft provides a pilot’s communication to the overhead objects and aircrafts in every range of operational height and radius of the aircraft and transfer of the identification signals. The aircraft is equipped with short range and long range radio navigation systems allowing flying and landing at any time during the day and night, both in favorable and unfavorable meteorological conditions.
The sight system of the aircraft enables to destroy the target in terms of visual vision.
The weapon control system may be used to prepare and select the weapon and the mode of its application, as well as to control explosives and other elements of the aviation weapon in terms of different loads of the aircraft.
A filming equipment and photo-control device installed on the aircraft serve the purpose of controlling the results of gun firing and missile launch.
The aircraft safety system includes the apparatus identifying the functioning radar stations, automatic machine identifying passive infrared defects and dipole scatterers.
The most important peculiarities of the aircraft are:
    · Higher life cycle than that of the aircrafts of front aviation at the expense of a complex of special means
    · Powerful missile, bombing and artillery armament
    · Little time necessary for preparation for a repeated flight, even in case the variant of armament is changed
    · Relative simplicity of piloting techniques
    · High exploitation produceability of the aircraft
    · Capability of carrying out independent military actions even from the ill-equipped airfield
    · High reliability of equipment, aggregates and systems
    · Favorable vision from the pilot’s cockpit.

    Fighter SU-25KM (Scorpion)

Developer: Elbit Systems Ltd. (Israel), TAM-TBILISI AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURING (Georgia)
SU-25KM (commercial model, modernized) has been produced by the Plant since 2001. The first aircraft took off on April 14, 2001. Total 6 aircrafts have been modernized.
SU-25KM is included in the military-air force armament of Georgia and Turkmenistan.
    Modernization purposes
The modernization of SU-25KM aims at improving the military capabilities and widening the area of application of the aircraft, as well as reducing its performance expenses.
    · Reaching conformity with NATO systems
    · Reaching conformity with ICAO systems
    · Exploitation of the aircraft at night and in unfavorable meteorological conditions
    · Increasing the accuracy of application of the aviation annihilation systems (aerial bombs, unguided jet missiles) by approximately 2,5-3 times
    · Boosting the efficiency of the aircraft application in air battles by approximately 2,5-3 times
    · Improving flight safety at the expense of algorithms and verbal warnings
    · Increasing the time of location above the target by 20% at the expense of the flight track optimization
    · Ensuring training and education abilities by using Western concepts (using video records instead of photo an film-control apparatus)
    · Ensuring the exploitation of a wider range of aviation facilities
    · Increasing the reliability of the systems
    · Reducing the load on the pilot by reducing the number of switches and instruments in the cockpit and by means of color displays and digital cards
    · Reducing costs of performance by using Western technologies
    · Reducing the time needed for preparation of the aircraft for flight.

    Briefly about avionics
Aircraft SU-25KM is equipped with modern aviation radioelectronics, with the technology “glass cockpit”, modernized navigation system and armament control system.
The complex of avionics fully operates on a modular multi-role computer MMRC (Modular Multi-Role Computer) produced by Elbit Systems Ltd., which is connected up with two bars of data exchange, type 1553B.
The cockpit has been thoroughly modernized. Most of analog devices have been replaced by two multifunctional 6' x 8'–size color displays MFCD (multifunction color displays). There has been a system HOTAS (Hands-On-Throttle-And-Stick) enabling a pilot to perform multiple operations without removing his hands off the control levers of the engines and aircraft installed. A display system on the windshield has been replaced by a new system with the control panel HUD (Head Up Display).
The complex includes a new navigation system, which works both in GPS and inertia modes. The radio equipment of the aircraft control also includes the landing system VOR/ILS. The navigation information is expressed on the color display as a moving map. There are two new frequencies – UHF and VHF installed providing the communication without any danger of unauthorized intervention.
The aircraft is also equipped with a state identification friend or foe (IFF) meeting the NATO standards.
Modernization of a fighter Su-25Km is carried out together with capital repairs resulting in the increased resource and life cycle of the aircraft.

Seems they also build the UB version. TAM really looks like a sophisticated company. Some of the machinery is top notch. Thanks for sharing...

SU-25-UB has been produced by the Plant commercially since 1995. Over 10 aircrafts have been built up to present.

Well, not a mess to anyone, but good enough for Georgia. I hope the government will hold it's words and really make that company rise again.

Sure. Those 210 Su-25 just dissapeared. The Russian Su-25 pilots just went out of the barracks, climbed the ladder and fell down on the other side, because they didn't realize that their aircrafts did just dissapear. LOOOOL

Don't know what kind of plane flew over Tbilisi in that night, but Hats off for the pilots of that aircraft .... even after they missed the target and hit only the outskirts. Respect, they didn't got shot down

What is wrong with you? His post are informative and his sources back up his claims. Life with it or post some sources that state otherwise, but stop selling your opinion as fact. Its annoying and does not benefit this thread.
He said that the company produces and modernizes Su 25 aircrafts and the company homepage says:

Production, overhaul, current maintenance and modernization of Su-25 type aircrafts
    http://www.tam.ge/company.htm

So what is there to discuss?

This is same level of confirmation like claims Russian army lost 8000 soldiers in August war. You know, these claims were posted in internetz too.

Sorry guys, but Tbilisi aircraft plant is dead now. Not enough people, no new (even old (sold out) ) machinery, no money, no posibilities without cooperation with Russia, no future for now.

Fine, you don't have to believe the company.
However if you don't have sources that state otherwise you may voice your concerns, however don't repeatedly call it "dreams" "BS" and what not.
Its annoying, especially if this thread gets flooded with comments like that.

But pls dont believe things that you are reading on a TMA page thats full of bull****, georgia didnt produce in the last years Su25 and since the last year it have lost complete the capabilities of building whatever.
As I wrote, who ever survived with his plane the bombing of TAM, didn't directly hit the plants, otherwise there would have been a giant fiasko about that.

You are correct, it seems the company itself wasn't damaged. Possibility is that the company owned runway was damaged, however that should be repairable rather easily.
