If your post was deleted, you may want to think of how it fit in. Next time, maybe some suspensions will help.
Topic is Georgian Army, Navy and Air Force. So think about it as Georgia is home court and the rules are home court rules.
After some cooling down, I will reopen the thread if someone reminds me.

Commander of the US Marine Corps General James Amos and Sergeant Major of the US Marine Corps Carlton Kent visited Georgian serviceman Alika Gitolendia, who was wounded in Afghanistan.

5 dead and 13 wounded so far.
1 IED victim and 4 KIA by a landmine during a combat operation against Taliban fighters defending a hilltop close to the village of Shabani in Helmand. The hilltop was named "Ertoba".
Strange to me. For example in 2010 Poland has 6 KIA and 108 WIA in Afghanistan. You see my point ? There should be much more wounded than killed. Maybe your new MRAPs will change that5 dead and 13 wounded so far.
Yeah, but those reported casaulties happened mostly during a single operation led by USMC Expeditionary forces. A company of the 31st Infantry battalion undertook a direct assault against a fortificated hilltop.
4 died due to a mine blast ( where it is actually not clear of what origin the mine was: Taliban/Soviet/US ? ). One soldier was wounded so badly that he lost an arm. Some MRAPs surrounded the area for fire support from safe distance, but the hilltop provided good cover for hidden MG nests and the Infantry had to move on it directly. Nothing else to expect from Georgians, they took the lead. It was a CQB with running from rock to rock. Some 11 were wounded during the attack. Don't know about Taliban casaulties, but the hilltop was taken. I wonder how the M4 carbines proven in that engagement.
Colonel Shukhvani was killed prior by an IED explosion remotely detonated with a mobile phone. The other soldier lost both of his legs.
The 32nd battalion was directly engaged in combat oeprations after it's arrival.
great videoHappy new Year from our Georgian contingent in Afghanistan !
Georgian troops during USMC lead operation in Helmand.
Where in Helmand are the Georgians? I read about them being in the AO but I never saw them in person or in the BFTs for that matter. I was in Marjah (I'm a Marine).
Now I researched myself and you are all complelty right. Someone posted it on a GA forum and I just took it over.
But I found a full lenght video about Georgians in the polish army during WW2. A very important part of Georgian military history.
