Default Chinese discover microbes eating oil in the wild.

The creation of microbes to help in the recovery of petrochemical spillage and contamination cleanup has been done for a while, but now the Chinese have discovered them in the "wild"...as in naturally occurring petrochemical consuming microbes.

    Cool link.

Very cool. But I'd be more interested in a microbe that eats old PC boards and craps 92 octane gas.

Cool, now we have to find out if those oil-eating microbes are edible...

Consume enough of these microbes, we can also convert raw materails into usable energy sources! y'know, like, breathing air so you can excrete oil

WOW! If these microbes really eat oil they could obliterate the economies of Arab oil producers...and pretty much everyone else's too. Wonder if these things could mutate, sounds like a good movie idea.

I think you folks are forgetting what happens to a valuable energy source, because once these microbes eat the oil it's not coming back for a very long time.

That also means less car fuel to go around in the world.

Of course, could you imagine a mutant strain devouring all the worlds oil supplies in a matter of months.
