I have a page of red Xs. Looking closer won't change anything.

Interesting concept. May mean an extended stay for the F-18?

I believe it's more aimed at gathering experience with 3D thrust vectoring as applied to twin-engine aircraft (since the two other western tests were single engined).

Great post! This is the kind of a/c I like watching. Some ten years ago or so perhaps, I managed to download a series of documentaries of the development and competition of us navy and airforce fighter development programs through the 60's 70's and 80's ending up with the f-14, f-16, the f-18 and then the f-15. They were perhaps four to six one hour documentaries made probably back in the early seventies and eighties, can't recall really. Sadly I have lost those films. They were great to watch and I'm really sad I lost them. Anyone have any idea of what films I might be looking for? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Nope. Read his post and almost started cryin'. They sound awesome though. I've got tons of books and stuff about that but have never seen a video series on those programs.

I've shed some tears as well over losing those videos, and can't for the life of me remember who made them. I try to search for the every now and the and I'll be sure to inform you if I find them again.

Try looking at the "Great Planes" series as their specific type episodes have extended footages from the development of each type
