The EU should sink boats carrying illegal immigrants to prevent them entering Europe, British National Party leader Nick Griffin has told the BBC.
The MEP for the North-West of England said the EU had to get "very tough" with migrants from sub-Saharan Africa.
Pressed on what should happen to those on board, he said: "Throw them a life raft and they can go back to Libya".

Yeah, shot at the poor of the poorest. Those who try to escape hunger and torture. Good advice.![]()
The US policy on this issue is close to what this guy espouses. Haitians seeking refuge in the US, those who are both poor and hungry, are given a ride back to Port-Au-Prince courtesy of racing stripe cruise lines (a USCG cutter). Their boat, and I use the term loosely because it's little more than a wooden hulk with a large tree branch for a mast, is sunk at sea either by; a) burning, b) .50 cal fire, or c) combination of both. On the other hand, Cubans seeking political refuge are given a ride to Miami or Key West. Cubans are at least given a hearing with ICE to determine their reason for seeking entry. Most get to stay but a few ne'er do wells are returned to Castro and Co.
Advice to the destitute - get the right [sic] political affiliation then seek refuge.
Seems kinda backward, doesn't it?

Ironic considering Griffin probably still has friends there from back before Gadaffi turned into Keith Richards
Under Griffin's control, the National Front supported Libya's Colonel Gadaffi and Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini. Griffin visited Tripoli in 1988 at Gadaffi's expense to look for funding from the Libyan regime.
