Warsaw. A Polish soldier was fatally wounded in a roadside bomb in Afghanistan Thursday, the defence ministry in Warsaw said, bringing to 28 the number of Polish soldiers killed in that country, AFP reported.
"An improvised explosive device exploded under a full army transport vehicle on patrol in the north of Ghazni province, (in eastern Afghanistan)", the ministry said in a statement.
The driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Pazel Posziat, was seriously injured and taken by helicopter to a hospital at Poland's military base in Ghazni, where he later died of his injuries.
Polish troops - who form one of the larger NATO contingents fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan - have been in the country since 2002. Around 2,600 troops look after security in Ghazni province.
The last Polish soldier to die was a 27-year-old chief corporal killed in mortar fire in Ghazni province on June 2.

I had noticed this information earlier but I did not want to post it in the topic on photos.
This short excerpt is a clear proof you don't read what you post since his name was Paweł Poświat.
"Pazel Posziat" does not make any sense in Polish. WTF is that??? I'm not surprised foreign journalists cannot spell a Polish name but I'm a bit shocked a native speaker is unable to notice such a BS.
and you can get a medal for it?
Hadesss, for God's sake! I really do appreciate your efforts to keep this and other threads running and I must you do fantastic job here. But do not spoil this thread with any sort of commemoration posts. There are other threads where we usually share those sad news.

Thank you trytan for you concern but I guess you are not so long here to give advice. Most of polish mp.net users regardless how much they are divided have developed here defined successful consensus about the thread contents.

Could you guys cut this bullsh!t out? This is a picture thread and such discussions just ruin it.
