Akmep - this HMMWV photo was taken in Iraq, not Afganistan, about 3 years (?) from now. This vehicile was quite "famous" in Poland because of its markings on the MG coupola.
And why did you add ": )" before posting photo of blowned up polish HMMWV?

According to officials - not it isn't.
The story (as far as I remember) is simple - US Army give our Iraq contingent some old, used HMMWV's with painted markings of they're previous US units. This was a marking of some intelligence unit, if memory serves.
Our soldiers didn't know that this sign is similar to that used by 1st SS division, and they simply let it be on coupola.

Well, the "Key" is a symbol of army intelligence - no intentional reference to Waffen SS.

The key is symbolic of security and control. The same as skull is not a reference to Totenkopf. But this is 100% copy of 1st SS Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler symbol.
