Another updated shot of Pompy from the ACA website, the other angle is updated as well, but the crane's still in the way.

    Good point.

....Although, the Super Bug F (with G wiring) would still offer the FAA some useful long term capabilities - i.e a two seater cab (useful in the networked battle space), a Buddy Tanking capability and the option to convert some/all of them to Growlers for Electonic Attack aircraft.

Your right the F-18 would still have a lot to offer the FAA but it would be an additional cost, another type of aircraft to maintain, another source of parts to buy, another source of contractors to pay for. Unfortunately all these costs will add up.

Which is why leasing them is the best idea, when time is up we get rid of them or if there is another delay we can just keep a hold of them for a bit longer.

A mess do in the bridge?! Wow... I will dust off my kit!

I have to say that, despite the amount of time I have spent watching the progress of this program, I am still astonished by the sheer scale of these ships. Watching the worker walk past that block is a real testament to their enormous size...

well I spose that more accurately we should be holding our party 'on' the bridge as opposed to 'in' the wardroom??
