Is it just me and my computer or have those Rosyth dockyard cam photographs not been very clear of late? They used to be much sharper. Perhaps someone needs to get up there and clean the lens.
It will be neat to see an aerial photograph of the entire ship as it now exists.
I see one of the R class SSBNs in the next dock - is that just for routine maintenance or has work started on dismantling the nuclear submarines stored there?
Talking of ACA cameras, I wish they had one on the port side too.

The following is an excerpt from a post on the 'Future Carrier' thread on PPRUNE. Sums the whole thing up completely. Poster was 'not a boffin' hope he doesn't mind me posting his work on here.
'The sh1te that has appeared in the Telegraph as well as the ST has clearly been cherry-picked and quite possibly by someone who spends a significant amount of time licking windows for employment. Had one asked "are the QEC an improvement on CVS?" the answer would be yes. Had one asked "Other than the STOVL mode - which is not locked in for life (unlike CVS) - is QEC constrained in its potential?" the answer would be no. Had one asked "what organic AAR or buddy-buddy potential has the RN had since 1978?" the answer would be "f8ck-all". Had one asked "would you rather have QEC or not?", I'd be astounded if the answer was not "hell yes!"
All of this "debate" about QEC is essentially mischief making. Those still pushing the "it's only six jets" line need to take themselves outside and ask how many jets CVS was supposed to carry and if they get the right answer, then ask themselves whether there are any limitations over the next fifty years that would prevent QEC carrying more than 6 jets if required. Note that SoS has already said he envisages a minimum of 12 and that the deck is designed for the best part of 40. If F35B gets canned, then that is another debate, but wishful thinking won't make it happen either. There is a significant investment in the ships - and for the umpteenth time, they are actually big enough to have an alternative if we need to. Not something that you can do with your "Wasp/LHD" option.
Is portsmouth still building the flight deck sections for the Prince of Wales, not a lot of room in that shed to build them?
yes, once UB07 is moved along LB02 is move there will lots of room for Flight decks station work taken from I think Tyne & wear(A & P) or was it Cammel lLaids-Merseyside
I've always loved the fact that we call them sheds, it means that effectily we are building our Aircraft Carrier in a shed
The progress compared to this time last year is absolutly amazing! I know for sure one of the hightlights of the new year for me, will be seeing UB07 roll out of that shed and onto a barge in all its glory! Lets hopethat next year the tabloids stop focusing on misinformation about these carriers and start to promote the amazing achievement that they are for our country, no other country is building 2 supercarriers at the same time, and the speed they are been done at is incredable, they really should be seen as a crowning achievement for what the UK can actually produce!

Nice find Jonas; all of this negative press is just sensational journalism that helps to sell papers. I guarantee even when she is launched all the press will be there but there will be a strong undertone of cost overruns and the F35 isn't ready yet.
