I'm not sure I follow mate? Their's is, in my view, a pertinent point of view. I would respectfully suggest that the concept of cross decking on a long term basis, and sharing carriers, is something of a pipe dream. It is true that converting a carrier from one aircraft type to another is a time consuming process. Putting F35 on a carrier and operating it long term is integrating a weapon system. You don't just build a big ship and fly aircraft off it as if it is some airfield. A Carrier and its aircraft are part of a weapon system as a whole. One cannot operate effectively without the other. Phoenix makes some very good points about weapons storage, security, equipment storage, political considerations and strategic thinking. These cannot be overlooked.
I would also respectfully suggest that you look at articles such as this one.

Please note the Author. These are not amateurs.
EDIT - Also, please note that the author on my previous post was Cdr Nigel "Sharkey" Ward RN. Google him... He's DEFINITELY not an amateur!
Cheers...
