Which is still not bad considering that she was built to commercial standards.

I did think that it could happen today if the weather here was the same as up there.

Yeah the weathers good here too but unfortunately there's not much to see as it looks like they've raised it up slightly and just slid it accross, there's too many buildings obstructing my view got some pics though, however I think the ACA Flickr pics will obviously tell the better story. Liger the weather forecast is meant to be crap up here for the next week from tomorrow so that might be why it's today. Question is will they skid this week or next?

I think the chances of any dedicate replacement for HMS Ocean are next to none barring some real dramatic change.

As to out of service date, at one point it was thought that it would be 2016, as soon as QE would arrive. Earlier it had been 2018, which is now once more the likely date.

Its still possibly we'll see an Ocean replacement, in some form in won't be in this decade but i think they will want to keep the QEC as carriers rather than risk them in the LHA role. Now it could be a direct replacement, they may look at a potential LHD and replace the Albions along with Bulwark, they may look to replace one of the Bay class with a full deck version or they may go down the Dutch & Canadian route and looks at the JSS as part of the MARS program. It just strikes me that they will find another excuse to get some form of Commando Carrier replacement, but they will be creative in how they justify it. We'll just have to wait and see.

The ACA Flickr account has a couple of new images of the Bow rigged to lift, but they've put them online sideways....Wonder if they're prepping the lift today to perform the actual lift in the morning?

Here's the bow section, sporting the crest of HMS Queen Elizabeth, being prepared for its lift into the dock at Babcock's Rosyth dockyard. If the weather stays good it will be lowered into the dock on June 15.
Tomorrow guys, wonder why they put the crest back on.
