    Hello everyone,

I am an enthusiast for Steyr-Puch "Haflingers". These small off-road vehicles were built in Austria from 1959 to 1974. In 1970, the Nigerian Army bought 400 (four hundred) Haflingers. I have some information online on my website at: http://tdc.haflinger-4wd.com/countries/nigeria.php

Here are two pictures of a civil Haflinger in Austria to show you how the Nigerian vehicles would have looked like:

I would like to find out more about what happened with these 400 Haflingers. I would be happy to get any information and/or pictures that could be of interest (historic pictures, pictures of Haflinger wrecks... anything).

Just to avoid misunderstandings: I know that there are still Steyr-Puch "Pinzgauers" in service with the Nigerian Armed Forces. The Pinzgauer is the larger, upscaled and younger "brother" of the Haflinger and was also exported to Nigeria in larger numbers. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinzgau...errain_Vehicle

    Kind regards,
    pathfinder700ap
