Does anyone have any info regarding the reason the XC-142 program did not go ahead ?? Given the requirements for cargo carriers in Vietnam, and now Afghanistan, with rough or no field requirements, one wonders what might have transpired had it been followed thru. Just curious that's all. Cheers guys.
Apparently the testing did not go completely as planned with a few mishaps mostly due to vibration, engines giving out less power than planned, and pilot error. In the end though, these were things that could probably have been ironed out seeing the program was still very young.
