The 1st Provisional Marine Brigade (Iceland)
Partially correct.
The 1st Provisional Marine Brigade was created in Charleston South Carolina in July 1941 in a period of 15 days to take over garrison duties from British and Canadians troops in Iceland. US forces comprised the 6th Marine Regiment, 5th Defense Bn., and 2nd Bn., 10th Marine Regiment. The unit returned to the United States in early 1942 where it was disbanded in New York City on 25 March 1942 and resumed its assignment with the 2nd Marine Division. The link is posted below.

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Maj. Gen. Mastin M. Robeson, the commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command, and Lt. Gen. Dennis J. Hejlik, commanding general of II Marine Expeditionary Force salute the MARSOC Memorial Wall during a dedication and cake cutting ceremony at Stone Bay, here, Nov. 10.
The wall names the six Marines and one Navy Corpsmen in MARSOC who have given their lives in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
Family members of the fallen service members, and Marines and Sailors gathered to pay their respects during the ceremony.
At the ceremony's end, a Marine Corps Birthday Cake was brought out to celebrate the 234th Marine Corps Birthday. The celebration included the traditional passing of the cake from the oldest Marine in attendance to the youngest.
The Marine Raiders Foundation, a national nonprofit organization, donated funds to construct the wall.
