I don't know about his guys, but our 52s were launching TOWs and Javelins at attackers and IED emplacers like it was going out of style. Dismounted though, rather than in TOW trucks.

PHU BAI, VIETNAM (13 March 1967) - A Marine rifleman of the 1st Bn., 9th Marine Regiment uses his M-16 rifle to fire at North Vietnamese troops during Operation Prairie II. Behind him is an artillery forward observer using binoculars to spots targets for the rifleman. The M-16 is replacing the M-14 as the basic weapon in 3rd Marine Division infantry units.
