    Searched around and couldn't find a dedicated thread for all the branches of the Argentine armed forces. Post any military related pictures from all eras of Argentina's military history.

    Finally Elbs!! It was about time that you created a thread about your country. Here goes a question, thePrefectura Naval Argentina is like the Coast Guard? if it is not, what does it do? I'm too lazy to google it.

    Hehe took me a while. Yeah, the PNA is basically the coast guard, so rescue, sea and river patrol, fisheries protection, etc.

    ARA Hercules, a Type 42 destroyer converted into a fast marine transport on exercise.


    The Almirante Brown (MEKO 360) class guided missile destroyer ARA Almirante Brown guided with an AS.555 Fennec on the helipad.






    SH-3 Sea King


    ARA Parker is one of six Espora (MEKO 140A16) class frigates.


    ARA San Juan, a Santa Cruz (TR1700) class diesel electric attack submarine accompanies the task force. The TR1700 is one of the fastest diesel submarines ever built.

    COAN is the Navy's air arm, and has operated a wide variety of types in its long history.

    Also local law enforcement at port areas, rivers and estuaries.

    That's right. The remaining airframe was sold as spares to support the Danish fleet.

    The ARA Libertad is the navy's school ship, which takes graduating cadets on instruction trips worldwide. She was launched in May of 1956 and remains one of the most famous naval vessels in Argentina.
