By the way, is the M-16 now the standard arm of the Arg Marines? I was under the impression that the FAL is still standard across the forces.

Nice picture, happy. Yeah, the marines have transitioned to the M16A2 and the M249 SAW as their standard arms. Overall their equipment seems to be better than the army's, but IIRC they've lost a large amount of manpower and the battalions are significantly smaller than they were in the 80s/90s.

Good news for the Armada Argentina today;



An icebreaker has been contracted for the 2009/10 season for $8million.
Only another stop-gap for the never ending Alrmirante Irizar saga, but it's better than nothing! I'm not aware of any renaming to something more hispanic.

Its 'being fixed'. Low budget, and lak of willingnes on helping the military are delaying this from being finished.

Not precisely. Just anti military attitude, small budget, and a Defense Ministry ruled by people with out skills.
