    Default Aerospatiale Super Puma

The Ejercito Argentino has operated the Super Puma as transport and Antarctic support. The Super Pumas were usually deployed to the Almirante Irizar. Recently, the surviving examples were sent to Eurocopter for refurbishment.

No, the Super Pumas have no armament. But the navy did modify the ASH-3D Sea King to fire the Exocet. I'll see if I can dig up a picture or vid.

EDIT: here's one with the AM.39

Good news about the repair of the Almirante Irizar icebreaker.

Sener contracted for repairs and modernization of the "Almirante Irizar" icebreaker of the Argentine Navy.

The reach of the contract includes the engineering of the disassembling of the equipment and the damaged structure, the basic engineering and of development of all the zones, equipment and systems affected by the repair/modernization, and the technical attendance throughout the process, including tests of sea and ice tests.

The work, with beginning in November of 2009, hopes that it culminates with the ice tests in October of 2011. In this way, it is anticipated to realise the Antarctica campaign of the 2012 with the ship totally renewed and operative.

The repair and modernization of the icebreaker will be carried out by the Shipyard Tandanor Sacyn of the city of Buenos Aires, whose main shareholder is the Argentine National State through Ministry of Defense, and where already is the ship.

Some of the tasks that are going away to realise are the following: replacement of near 600 tons of steel of the affected zones; renovation of the power plants and electrical generation, with technology of last generation; increase of the lodging capacity and work for technical and scientific personnel on board until arriving at the 313 people; and substitution of the navigation equipment, government, communications and security by modern equipment equipped with more the high tech.

In order to undertake the project of engineering and technical attendance with success guarantees, Sener informed of which it has the resources and means to elaborate and to give to the construction shipyard necessary the technical information in the required term. For it counts on the office of the Division of Sener in Argentina, in Buenos Aires and very next to the shipyard, besides the participation of the Divisions of Madrid and Valencia.
The work that will carry out Sener will include the following areas: engineering of the taking apart of the zones more severely damaged of the ship, following the strictest recommendations of security; basic engineering and of detail of Structure (“Steel”), armament, electricity and qualification of the zones, equipment and systems that there are to renew and/or to modernize; excellent elaboration of engineering specifications of purchase of all the equipment and systems; and technical attendance during the repair/modernization of the ship, including tests of sea and ice tests.

The last campaign that the ship carried out was the one of December 2006 - April 2007. During the return trip, to 140 miles to the east of Madryn Port, it underwent a fire originated in the room of generator ELTs that extended quickly to all the engine room of the ship. The ship was evacuated and, once extinguished the fire, Belgrano Port was towed to Naval Base. After evaluating the different alternatives, the Argentine Navy decided to come to the important repair and modernization that now begins.
Tandanor is one of the greatest shipyards of naval repairs in South America, with more than 100 years of experience in the repair and naval conversion. Account with a strategic location, in the harbor zone of the city of Buenos Aires.

In this particular case, it looks like both killmarks refers to HMS Arrow and HMS Brilliant. Both ships hit and damaged but not sunk.

And the naval targets according to the Fuerza Aérea Argentina Archives.
