Very cool, thanks for the info. It looks a little like the Brazilian camo on the AMX.

    Some more pictures:

August 2010 - Army soldiers and their marine instructors train for operations in urban areas at the urban combat course, at the marine infantry training center. The soldiers are preparing ahead of their UN peacekeeping deployment to Haiti later this year.

August 2010 - Potential candidates for the combat divers course (Buzos Tácticos - APBT) are screened and evaluated at the Mar del Plata naval base. As part of their initial training, they practiced close quarters combat, visit/board/search/seizure tactics, weapons familiarization, hand to hand combat and various diving exercises. Those selected would enter the 2011 course to eventually join the APBT.

I thought the Argentine Marines already had the Kevlar helmet...interesting to see them still using the old US style steel helmet.

You're right, the marines use the American kevlar helmet. The men in the pictures are Army soldiers. You can tell by the FALs they are holding, which is the standard army rifle. The Marines use the M16A2 as their rifle.

    Time for an upgrade

Would be nice to see the Argentine Army get a new camo pattern, new helmet and rifle to replace the 50yr old FAL. I thought I read somewhere, maybe a year or two ago, that Argentina was working with the Italian Army to either participate or get some ideas from their Soldato Futuro project, anyone know if anything came out of this?

Here´s another IA-58 low fly, but from the 1982 war.
Personally, this is the first time I see this image.

^ Nice videos... especially the one from 1982. Took some major balls to fly those things into combat against SAMs.

Here's more shots from the malvinas era

MB.339 in high-viz scheme before switching over to the camo scheme

    Super Etendards on the flightline

SuE on the catapult after the war

    ^ Muy buenas, facundo!

This one is a little bit more sad... Santisima Trinidad awaiting her fate as a possible museum in Rosario. Once the most powerful destroyers in South America. At least its better than being sold for scrap or sunk as a target

Is that her sister ship, Hercules underway in the background?

I think it would be a great attraction in Rosario. At least the fresh waters of the Parana river will mitigate the corrosion and ensure longevity.

Good eye Ordie. Yeah it is. I imagine the Santisima Trinidad must've been stripped bare of anything useful to keep the Hercules in operating order. Unfortunately it's not much good anyways, since it's limited in usefulness as a marine transport, and since the Sea Darts were all retired, doesn't even provide air cover anymore.

Some army helicopter shots. Some of these Hueys were ex-Navy and transferred to the army. One of them has the local rocket launcher pack mounted. Also, the Agusta A109s are being brought back into service after a few years of being grounded.
