MinDef Garré signs agreement of intent with Brazilian MinDef Jobim over participation in the Embraer KC-390 project

11/1/10 - Negotiations with Brazil have begun in order to define the extent of Argentina's eventual participation in the production of the KC-390 transport aircraft. Also discussed were plans for the eventual purchase of six KC-390s, subject to Argentina participating in the program

Also, the Gaucho off-road utility vehicle was confirmed to be ready for series production. Brazil will be tasked with providing the engines and Argentina will produce the chassis.
MinDef source here. Good news if followed through. More cooperation with other countries is a good step forward.

I agree, I hope this is the beginning of many more. If all the South American countries pool their resources they could build some very capable equipment for all the services, Army, Navy and Air Force, that would better fit their needs and budgets while retaining local knowledge and experience.

A day in the life of a P-3 Orion crew

8 hour, 2100 nautical mile round trip from Tierra del Fuego to Antartica and back, conducting maritime patrol and search and rescue training, and overflying Argentina's San Martin and Marambio bases on the continent.

I'm sure this will bring back fond memories for Ordie

Infantería de Marina celebrates its 131st birthday

19 November - The Infantería de Marina (naval infantry) celebrated the 131st anniversary of its creation in 1879. The event commemorated the defense of Buenos Aires in 1806 by local marine militias, the veterans of 1982, and also more recent UN peacekeeping operations in Haiti and Cyprus.

Navy says farewell to the Alouette III helicopter after 41 years of service.

The Alouette III naval helicopter will be retired this week after 41 years of service and 45,000 flight hours with the Argentine Navy. Originally purchased to replace the Sikorsky S-55, the Alouettes served aboard all the major surface ships of the navy, fought in the 1982 war, and was a common sight at Antarctic bases.

Probably with nothing. And if the ARA is lucky enough, with some AS-555 Fennec.
