Excellent pics. Question. The SPG's. Can someone tell me what those are? One looks like a Russian truck with a 122mm on its flat-bed. The other boxy looking vehicle, I can't make out what that is.

The truck you refer to is a Kraz with the D-30 122mm howitzer. The boxy one has been reported to be a much modified Kraz in two distinct variants, one fitted with the M-46 130mm field gun and the other, seen this year, fitted with what looks like an A-19 122mm field gun (recognition features are the double baffle muzzle brake, bottom mounted cradle, shape of shield and vertical equilibrators).

Are there existing photos of Cuba special forces commandos wearing blue berets? I've seen those with red berets from the Avispas Negras.

The one with the D-30 is a KrAZ-255 but the heavily modified one can also 214.
The A-19 has no muzzle brake, have they used the D-74 one ?
The 100mm D-10T used on the "BTR-60" has been modified with a indigenous brake.
A poor army but with many ideas !

Thanks. I'll assume the blue beret commandos are with the Negras too?

Yes Ominae, actually they are the same thing. During years 2004-2005 the Paratroopers Brigades were dissolved and the members have joined the Commandos (Avispas). Until then the main task of the Commandos was to sabotage enemy structures through explosive devices. After that the following tasks have increased also including Long Range Reconnaissance
