I am just curious if anyone has any "inside" information to when people can start enlisting again?
When the new defense agreement(2010-2014) is in place(should be announced in this month) with the new army-structure, you should e-mail the recruiters at the page you linked to. I think they'll be able to give you an answer in a couple of months time..

Thanks for the information. I really hope they start taking in enlisted during 2010. Is the danish army downsizing with the new defence agreement?

    In some areas, yes.

The HRU (Army Reaction Force Training) is very popular, and I think that's the main reason for them not taking in any more people at the moment. So the best thing to do is talk to the recruiters and get signed up ASAP if you really want to follow through on this.

I don't think the army is getting smaller. It will lose some capacities(AT, AA, eg.) that are meant to support the brigades, but will gain some new capacities so that we gets better at deploying and supporting battalion battlegroups like the one we have in Helmand right now. I'm not sure thou.. ?

Wow! Great pics - highly recommended viewing. May I suggest that you post the link here instead: http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...ad.php?t=95026

This thread was created to keep the other one free of non-picture related discussions - not free of pictures

No, we are all waiting .. but i know that there will be bought Piranhas to replace those that have been lost in Helmand. But my guess is that we proberly buy some additional also, its a very good and popular vehicle.

But I can't sign up for the HRU if I haven't done haerens basisuddannelse?

I sent them an email 2 weeks ago but maybe they are on christmas holiday.

There is an opening for Military Police though even if I much rather be a Grunt.

The army is looking for a new 120mm mortar. The army's fire support school(HILS) has recently tested the ammunition it have in store(80.000-90.000 rounds).

Well, the test is to see how our old 120mm ammunition (M/50, 20 - 30 years on shelves) fares in new mortars. I thought we'd already decided on the Soltam 120mm nortar, but the article mentions "two systems"...? I still say put NEMO towers on a few Piranhas.
