EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT. BRUSSELS. South African farmers represented in the Transvaal Agricultural Union have lodged a formal genocide-complaint against the ANC-government for crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, announced TAU deputy-chairman Henk van de Graaf today..

Left: Van der Graaf was interviewed by European Parliament TV and various Belgian TV-stations about his lodging formal genocide complaint against ANC-regime
    http://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/nl/pressroom/
“The farm murders are not ordinary crimes but fit into the context in which the ANC-regime wants to rid itself of especially its Afrikaner- and other white farmers purely for political reasons. This is in other words, a genocide and a crime against humanity.’
This was the shocking message by the South African Henk van de Graaf, the deputy-chairman of the Transvaal Agricultural Union. He was addressing the European parliament’s international conference, attended by more than 50 European parliamentarians and other high-level functionaries from Great-Britain, France, Italy, Flanders and Austria.
“The farm-murders are encouraged in a deliberate atmosphere of violence created by the ANC-regime against its (white) farmers. The ANC is for instance constantly telling unproven stories about farm-workers being poorly treated – even though the evidence is always sorely lacking for their claims.
Farmers also are unjustly and without any kind of proof, arrested and accused of crimes: one statement by (suspended) ANC youth leader Julius Malema was: ‘Shoot the Boers, they are all rapists’. The ANC is also constantly claiming that ‘the whites own 80% of all the land – when in fact the private-farmland ownership only was 33% ten years ago in 2001 – and has been rapidly dropping ever since. Meanwhile the extent of the farm murders indicates that this is a genocide: with the Transvaal Agricultural Union verifying 1,554 murders, this statistic is very understated, said Mr Van de Graaf. Thus far in January 2012, a total of 17 Afrikaner people were murdered – of whom at least six on farms.
“The Afrikaners are calling on the world to help stop the genocide, the farm murders, in South Africa. To this end the Transvaal Agricultural Union has lodged a formal genocide complaint at the International Criminal Court,’ he concluded.
Euro-MP Philip Claeys, who hosted the conference, said ‘we will do our utmost to continue to place this problem on our agenda over the next months,’ said at the conference’s conclusion.

Julius Malema: S Africa's ANC youth leader loses appeal

[*******#333333]Julius Malema has lost an appeal against a decision by South Africa's ruling party to suspend him.

[*******#333333]He was suspended from the African National Congress (ANC) for five years for sowing division in the party.

[*******#333333]The charge has been upheld, but Mr Malema is to be heard in 14 days' time over the length of the suspension.

[*******#333333]Once a close ally of President Jacob Zuma, Mr Malema now accuses him of ignoring poor South Africans who voted him into power 2009.

[*******#333333]Mr Malema's appeal before the party's Disciplinary Appeals Panel was largely based on the claim that the committee did not give him the opportunity to argue about the sentence at the end of the disciplinary process.

[*******#333333]The panel upheld the guilty ruling, but Mr Malema will be able to put his views across at the new hearing in two weeks' time.

[*******#333333]The ANC suspended him in November 2011 after he was found guilty of three of the charges against him - including bringing the party into disrepute by calling for regime change in Botswana - a position which contravenes party and government policy.

[*******#333333]The ANC leader is likely to be the party's candidate - and therefore strong favourite - when the country's next president is elected in 2014.

who ever gave a rat's about white farmers being killed in Africa? Remember Gukurahundi, and the 'farm purges' in Zimbabwe - which were as clear instances of ethnic cleansing as the world has seen. The West took more notice when Mugabe called gays: 'worse than pigs and dogs' - than of the ethnic cleansing on Zimbabwe's farms. The Tvl Agricultural Union may as well skree vir Province

This is an extremely disturbing video, particularly where Malema implicates his organization in these killings.

Genocide incidents quickly become international news headlines, but this very sad situation will most likely never get the publicity and public outcry that it deserves.

As I can gather , this clip is a ten minute preview of a 55 minute doccie made and shown to the European Parliament. I doubt it would get any airtime anywhere.

    Female farmer stabbed 10 times

    Hilda Fourie, Beeld

Johannesburg - Armed robbers stabbed a female farmer in the hands at least ten times in an attempt to take her knife from her, before tying her and her daughter up for about an hour.

Reinetha Venter, 59, and her daughter René, 27, who live alone on a farm about 30km from Modjadjiskloof, were attacked on Sunday night.

Police arrived about two hours after the robbers left and Venter then had to convince officials that it was a farm attack and not just a burglary.

“Police kept saying it was a burglary,” she said on Wednesday.

    Farm attack

"I kept saying it was a farm attack. Then they asked me why I was stabbed in my hands and if I tried to use my knife against the robbers.

“Of course I did. If I had a firearm I would have shot them. It was as if they [the police] tried to blame me for the attack.”

Venter is the sister of Colonel Gawie Alberts, station commander at the Villiera police station in Pretoria.

She and her daughter have lived alone on the farm since her husband died two years ago. She locked away all his firearms after his death, and placed her own firearm in a place of safety because she was overseas for much of last year.

Venter was watching TV at about 20:45 on Sunday when she heard a loud noise. Her daughter was sleeping in her bedroom.

“There was another bang and then they were in the house.”

Venter’s daughter came out of the room when she heard the noise. She and her mother were forced onto the sofa.

    Stabbed

“I pulled out a little knife that I am always carrying. One of them saw it and stabbed my hands repeatedly to get the knife,” said Venter.

The attackers then tied up their feet and hands.

Venter’s daughter kept asking her mother if she was okay, which upset the attackers. The daughter was then taken to the bathroom and her mother was carried to her room.

“The leader of the group was aggressive. But when he was away, the others asked me if I was okay,” said Venter.

After an hour, the attackers left with cellphones, electronic goods, jewellery and Venter’s car.

The daughter managed to untie herself, freed her mother and called the neighbours.

    No answer at police station

Neighbours called the Modjadjiskloof police station but no one answered the telephone.

Finally they managed to get hold of the Soekmekaar police, who informed their Modjadjiskloof colleagues.

Officials arrived about two hours later. Police took four statements from Venter during which she had to “repeat everything ten times”.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ronel Otto said the car was found burnt out near the house on Monday.

Otto said police will investigate Venter’s complaints about the officials.

Mulder stirs hornet's nest in land debate

    Land

Cape Town - Freedom Front Plus leader Pieter Mulder gave the hornet's nest of land ownership a sharp political poke in Parliament on Wednesday

He suggested that black "Bantu-speaking" people had no historical claim to 40% of the country.

"Africans in particular never in the past lived in the whole of South Africa," he said during debate in the National Assembly on last week's State of the Nation address.

Mulder's remarks provoked an angry buzz from ruling party benches, which rose in pitch when he then explained: "There is sufficient proof that there were no Bantu-speaking people in the Western Cape and north western Cape."

These areas formed 40% of South Africa’s land surface, he told MPs.

Mulder serves in President Jacob Zuma's Cabinet as deputy agriculture minister.

He was responding to the president's statement in his address on Thursday, that the willing-buyer willing-seller option had "not been the best way to address" land redistribution.
    Emotional issue

Mulder said the question of land ownership was an emotional issue that had caused many wars.
In the South African context, Bantu-speaking people had moved down the continent from Africa's equatorial regions, while Europeans had moved up from the Cape. They had met at the Kei River, in the present-day Eastern Cape.

"There are also differences of opinion about the influence of the Difaqane on land ownership. Read the diaries of the Voortrekkers about what they found when they moved into the interior," he told MPs.
The Sotho word Difaqane is the term used by historians for a period of internecine warfare involving various tribal groups in the interior of southern Africa during the early to middle 19th century.
Mulder took issue with land ownership figures cited by Zuma in his address.
"The President quotes in his address the department of rural development’s figures on land reform.
"According to [these], white people possessed 87% of the land, and the government had reached only 8% of its 30% [land reform] target. I seriously differ from these figures.

    Land audit

"How does the department calculate the eight percent? There isn’t a completed land audit against which we could correlate these facts."
The Development Bank of SA calculated in 2001 that 44% of the country's land belonged to whites, 20% to blacks, 9% to brown people and 1% to Asians.
"The way in which the department has calculated the 30% and 8% figures creates the impression that they are setting themselves up to fail."
Mulder said he seriously differed with the claim that white people had stolen land.

Referring to Zuma's remarks on the willing-buyer willing-seller option, he said that, in plain language, this meant the government now believed in the nationalisation of agricultural land.

However, anyone who had dealt with land reform knew the problem was not with the willing-buyer-willing-seller principle.

    Disasterous

"The problem is the disastrous way land reform is being applied. There are many letters on my desk from white commercial farmers, who have offered their land to the department and received no reply."
There were also many letters from white commercial farmers who had concluded sales agreements with the department and gone bankrupt three years later because the department had not paid them out.
Mulder asked why the department of rural development did not buy farms in the Kalahari and Karoo.
"In the Karoo and Kalahari, huge farms are available. Why does the department not buy some of that land to reach their 30% quicker? These semi-desert lands are, however, added to the 87% propaganda percentage as white land."

Mulder said he hoped there would come a time when both white and black commercial farmers did not have to look for opportunities elsewhere in Africa.

"I dream of white and black commercial farmers who do not have to go to Africa for opportunities. The children who were born in 1994 are 18 years old this year and can vote. They only know an ANC government," he said.
"There is no reason why such a child should not be able to buy a farm or obtain a bursary, just because he or she is white. Yet this is still happening."

Mulder's speech proved too much for Defence Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, who, after he finished speaking, leapt to her feet and demanded to know whether it was Parliamentary for a member "to blatantly distort history".

Speaker Max Sisulu dismissed this, saying it was a point of information, not a point of order.

*apart from being a political science mayor,I also did history up to 3rd yr level, and factually Mulder is historically correct in his ascertion.....,this doesnt fit the racially based ruling party propaganda tho!*

reality is, whites are a tiny constituency in South Africa, white farmers an even smaller one. Compare their predicament to the victims in Bosnia in the 90's - or even Syria today - there's no outside help for innocent citizens, until a conflict threatens some overseas politician's interests. Don't expect Europe's hand-wringing liberals to rush to your aid now. Rather wait until there's famine - as in Zimbabwe - due to the ethnic cleansing of farmers. Then the UN will send food aid for the starving masses

    North West farmer shot dead

    2012-02-20 14:45

Mahikeng - A farmer was shot dead in Buffelshoek on Monday morning, North West police said.

The 49-year-old man and his wife were milking cows in their dairy when they were overpowered by about five armed men, said Brigadier Thulani Ngubane.

The dairy is roughly 70 metres away from the couple's farmhouse.

"They were both taken back to the farmhouse where there was a confrontation between the suspects and the farmer. He was shot in the head from behind."

    He died on the scene.

"His wife was taken inside the house and tied up. She was assaulted ... on her head with a blunt object," said Ngubane.

The gang fled in the farmer's car. The woman was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Johannesburg - A farmer was beaten to death on Leeubos farm in Bloemhof, North West police said on Tuesday.

Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the body of 46-year-old Adriaan Johannes van der Merwe was discovered on the floor of his study at about 07:00 on Tuesday with head injuries.

"The house was ransacked by the suspects."

Ngubane said it was believed that the unknown attackers gained entry into Van der Merwe's farmhouse by digging a hole underneath a security fence on Monday evening.

"The suspects broke open the front door of the farmhouse."

Van der Merwe's vehicle, a silver RAV 4 with registration number FTY116NW, was missing. Police called for anyone with information to contact their nearest police station or CrimeStop on 0860 10111.

Johannesburg - A 64-year-old woman was stabbed to death by a young boy on Sunday during an attempted robbery at a farm outside George in the Southern Cape, police said.
It is believed the 16-year-old boy gained access to the house at Dagbreek farm through a kitchen window just after 02:00, said spokesperson Malcom Pojie.
The noise woke Charlotte Sroneman, who'd been sleeping. When she went to investigate, she was repeatedly stabbed in the chest, allegedly by the young man, said Pojie.
The commotion woke her husband, who'd also been sleeping, and he took his firearm before going to investigate what was going on in the dining room.
A fight ensued with the teenager and he was also stabbed. He, however, managed to fire several shots, wounding the intruder. "The suspect was shot on the right side of his face and on his shoulder. He tried to flee, but he was arrested by police not far from the house," said Pojie.
Charlotte was declared dead at the scene while her husband was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
"The suspect is currently at a provincial hospital under heavy police guard," said Pojie.

Free State farmer attacked, set alight
    2012-04-12 10:00

Christo Jansen van Rensburg is visited in hospital by his daughter Christelle, after being attacked and set alight on his farm near Heilbron. (Volksblad)

Bloemfontein - A Free State farmer is recovering in a Vereeniging clinic after being attacked and set alight outside his farm gate near Heilbron, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

Christo Janse van Rensburg, 36, sustained second and third degree burns when two men threw a petrol bomb through his open bakkie window as he arrived home around 22:00 on Tuesday, Volksblad newspaper reported.

His wife Connie told the newspaper that when her husband jumped out of his car and rolled on the ground, his assailants attacked him with a metal pipe and tried to force him back into the burning vehicle.

When this failed, they tried to stab him, then poured more petrol over him and set him alight.

Van Rensburg *****ped and ran 200 metres to his farmhouse for help.

"My husband fought very hard. When I heard him screaming, I switched the lights on and the attackers must have taken fright, because they fled," she said.
